By: Kendall Hunt
Here at Kendall Hunt, we have a very special employee to feature this month – one who has been with us for 40 years!
Lynn Steines is the Event Planning Manager who sees to convention logistics and special events for all of our divisions and works with various internal departments to plan successful events.
Seeing as this year marks Lynn’s 40th anniversary with the company, we asked her what she loves most about working at Kendall Hunt and this is what she said:
In my position I love that I work with all divisions, the challenge that it brings, and the opportunity it provides to know a plethora of employees. Over the years I have fostered many life-long friendships within the company. The same holds true for the convention associations that I continue to work with, thus having many long-distance connections throughout the United States.
For the past 10 years I have volunteered to participate in our company/school mentorship program. It continues to be a very rewarding experience for me, making a positive difference in a student’s life.
It is with extreme pleasure to be a part of the company’s tremendous growth as I look back to when I started. I am proud to be employed by such a giving, generous organization who supports our community in so many different ways. The testaments are the positives I encounter when out within the public.
When she’s not in the office, Lynn loves to get out in the fresh air and partake in activities such as biking, walking, and playing tennis, but her outdoor interests don’t end there! She loves landscaping and flower gardening. In her spare time, Lynn serves as a regular volunteer on her parish’s grounds committee and helps to maintain the campus. As she spoke to us about her hobbies, she said, “My goal is to become a Master Gardener,” and it sounds like she’s on her way!
Lastly, when Lynn is not in the office or in the garden, family time is also very important to her. She and her husband have three grown children – two daughters and a son – as well as a little one-year-old granddaughter, Ruby Lynn. Lynn and her husband love spending time with their children and often gather as a group for Sunday evening dinners. When we asked her to tell us about her family, Lynn said, “Each of their personalities brings a special, strong dynamic to the dinner table,” and we could tell how much she loves that family time.
. . .
Thank you, Lynn, for being a part of our Kendall Hunt family of companies for the past 40 years. We are lucky to have you!
